The Snickers Ad Issue. . .

Read the News Story regarding this issue, HERE.

So, evidently people are making a big fuss over the Snicker's Super Bowl Ad where two dudes eating the same Snickers bar inadvertantly kiss. Afterward they pull a patch of chest hair off in an effort to do something "Manly" (which was wince-inducing, but besides the point). I will first state that the chest hair thing was a much better ending than they originally had, which was the dudes beating each other up. That would probably send the wrong message. That said, I do not understand what all the fuss is about. While I did not find the commercial particularly funny myself, I did see it as an interesting twist on the classic "Lady & The Tramp" Moment:
My general feeling on the matter is this. People, its just a candy bar commercial. Is it in the best taste? No, but then again a lot of things in our society aren't. I think we havemuch more important things to be worried about in this day and age (that means Both Gay Rights Groups condemning the Homophobic aspects of the commercial, and Christian Groups, who I am sure were screaming to their Pastors over the end of the world being purveyed through men kissing on TV) than a Snickers Bar. Meh. I didnt even like the commercial. Oh well.

I have been obsessively watching scrubs re-runs recently which is not really anything of note, until someone caught my eye. They were doing an episode that involved a guest character "Lisa the Gift Shop Girl" :Who looked quite familiar. Upon furher research I figured out that she was on Saved By The Bell: The New Class, trying to capitilise on the corpse of one of my favorite childhood shows. Oh well. She seems to have moved on. I dont know what else to say, I just felt the need to mention it. Ta Da!
