The NCAA Tournament Game No One Cares About.

The NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament is officially underway now that the play in game is complete and the Bracket Field is set. Lead byClif Brown (32pts), Niagara University beat Florida A & M 77-69 in a game that no one other than fans of those schools teams really cares about. The Purple Eagles earned the right to be the last team in the field, a #16 seed who plays the #1 overall seed in the tournament in the first round. All that work earned them a first round battle with the Kansas Jayhawks. Oh yeah by the way, a #1 seed has NEVER lost to a #16 seed in the history of the tourney. Hope you enjoyed that win Niagara, sorry about your luck.

Tatuaje Havana VI Artistas Torpedo

6 1/8" x 52, Corojo 99

Construction: This is on nice looking, densely packed torpedo. Pretty looking and oily, and a nice mocha brown.

Pre
-Light: The torp was very densely packed, and the clipped (though easy) revealed a slightly tight draw. I was unwilling to clip higher up the cigar and so I would make do as is. Prelight notes of sweet tobacco and peppery spice.

Burn/Draw:
Light was easy. The draw, much as expected, was a little tight, but strangely, it still produced plenty of smoke. Due to the tight draw though, the burn was a little off. Nothing horrible, and nothing that needed fixed but, still uneven. The ash held for about an inch, and started almost start white, getting darker as it proceeded down the cigar.

Flavor:
In discussion with my friend Mike we have kinda come to the conclusion that almost all Tatuaje and Don Pepin Cigars come down to some variation of four basic flavors: Tang, Spice (Pepper Specifically), Wood, and & Leather. Well this version holds true to that observation. In this cigars case, the Spice and the Tang come to the forefront with the Wood and Leather fall more to the backround. This cigar is Medium-Full in strength and skewering toward full bodied.

Overall this is a pretty decent cigar. If the draw was a tad more forgiving, I could score it even higher. That said, I will be having more of them, and I can recommend them to you.

Plugging Good Stogie Sites. . .

A couple of quick plugs for sites regarding cigars that I enjoy. I mean if you came to me as your exclusive source for everything stogie related I would be very flattered, and you would be sadly uninformed. We can't have this now. So as a starting point I have these two sites as suggestions. First the Stogie Chat Cigar Forum, which is the friendliest and most knowledgeable bunch of "Brothers & Sisters Of The Leaf" I have met. There is lots to learn, and a bunch of fun to have at this sight.
Through StogieChat I came in contact with Doug Meade, another passionate stogie smoker. Doug is in the infant stages of what looks like will be a great Cigar Blog, and StogieCast.com. Though unlike I, who has no problem blogging not sure if anyone out there is listening, Doug would like to grow his Blog. And with the material he has posted so far, who can blame him. Also, I have been known to occasionally provide cigar reviews for his readers digestion (about once a week, actually). Overall, if you peruse these sites, a great groundwork for Cigar Understanding will be yours.

Jessica Alba

I really don't have much to say about her. I watched Dark Angel because in my hormone ravaged teens, shitty SciFi was okay if there was a hot girl in it. Also she was good in Sin City. Overall she really isnt a very good actress, but who cares?
