For the first time in quite a long while, I was able to make a box purchase of my very own. To honor that accomplishment, I offer you a review of the first stogie from that box, the Punch Rare Corojo Pita!

Appearance: Nice. Smooth and quite prominently square pressed, this is on nice looking stick. The wrapper has a distinctly reddish hue, though I seem to remember being told that it is not actually a Corojo wrapper. No big deal, they still look good.

Pre-Light: Clipped easy. The draw seemed forgiving. Pre light flavors were a nice tang and a dash of pepper. Simple but promising.

Burn/Draw:
This cigar was well constructed. The burn was relatively straight and when it did go offline, it self corrected on its on within a minute or two. The stogie also burned, slow and cool which allowed its flavor to come across to its full potential.

Flavors:
The first impression I got from these cigars were they were a little young. This is not surprising because I had just pulled the cellophane off the box about a week ago, so they probably were new! Ha. That said it was a pretty good cigar for being a new one. Started off with a burst of peppery spice, and soon settled in to a medium/medium-full cigar that had some earthy notes, some nice cedary wood notes, and more of that nice spice that it started with. There was even a tasty dark roasted coffee note or two, which was pretty awesome considering I paired it with a nice cup of Kona. Overall I have to say these guys are quite good now, and have the potential to be great later. If I remember I will try to review the last one of the box as well.
