Pedroia threw in a 2-4 with an RBI double performance, and Youkilis added his 16th home run late to cap the scoring. Josh Beckett allowed only a three run home run to Matt Stairs over eight innings pitched for his 17th win. With the win, the Red Sox stay 7 games in front of second place New York, and all but eliminate their opponent, third place Toronto (13 1/2 back) from competition in the division.
The Sox send Curt Schilling to the mound Wednesday night looking for the sweep, and he will be opposed by Shaun Marcum.
