Lee Naylor scored his first goal for Celtic as the reigning champions produced a sensational second-half display to overwhelm Hibernian and seal three vital SPL points.
The Englishman broke his duck with a composed finish minutes after the break, before Georgios Samaras climbed off the bench to head in a killer second.
It was Celtic’s 11th consecutive domestic victory and came after a hard-fought first half, during which Celtic had to contend with some serious Hibs pressure.
Coming at the start of a week that will also see Celtic play Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League and Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, this was a massive win for the Hoops.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan welcomed back Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink after a two-match absence. The Dutchman replaced Samaras in the only change from the side that beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2-1 in midweek.
