LOVO Figurado

6 X 60 SPANISH ROSADO

Now the first thing I have to say is that at the time of smoking, essentially the only thing I knew about this cigar was that it was a LOVO. No other information about qrapper, filler, anything. This first thing that struck me about this cigar, besides its shape, is the wrapper of this cigar is decidedly reddish in hue, more so than almost any cigar I have seen before. A mighty inviting hue I must say. Now the shape, this figurado looks almost exactly like I thought a cigar should look like when I was a kid (like in the old bugs bunny cartoons and such), a real throwback look. Well besides what I saw, I knew very little of this cigar so what better way to find out than to jump right in!

Tempted by the beautiful reddish sheen I was ready to dive in, I cut fairly far down leaving a rather small opening to draw on, and yet it never hampered the draw at all and I bet it concentrated the nice billows of smoke produced to a decent strength. I found this to be a rich, medium strength, medium bodided cigar, with tangy sweet notes that developed early and gathered steam all the way through to slightly more robust flavored bang up finish. The finish was long and a little tangy and rich and lingered a long time. Good stuff.

Insomnia / Boy Meets World

I am a horrible insomniac, so I am indulging my nightly 2 AM viewing of Boy Meets World on the Disney Channel. Tonight this brings up one burning question: is there any guy my age that didnt grow up having a crush on Danielle Fishel?

who played Corey's girlfriend Topanga Lawrence on the show. The answer I have decided upon is this. If you deny you had a crush on her you are one of two things: a) gay or b) lying. Alright, beddybye time now. . .

One Of the Best Live Shows I have Ever Seen!

A fabulous synthesis of traditional Irish Music and Punk Rock that makes you want to drink lots of Guinness and jump around:

Members:

A Little Backround Info:

Their music is influenced by such bands as The Pogues, The Dubliners, and Stiff Little Fingers, and the country twang of such legends as Johnny Cash. It includes many references to the Roman Catholic Church and ranges from boisterous punk rock like the pirate-themed "Salty Dog" and "Seven Deadly Sins," or the defiant "What's Left of the Flag", "With a Wonder and a Wild Desire", "Drunken Lullabies", and "Rebels of the Sacred Heart" to more somber songs like "Far Away Boys", "The Son Never Shines (On Closed Doors)", or "Death Valley Queen". The driving forces behind the music tend to be King's gravelly voice and Regan's manic fiddling

Singer Dave King revealed that the band's name comes from Molly Malone's, an Irish pub in LA. "We used to play there every Monday night and we felt like we were flogging it to death, so we called the band Flogging Molly."

Albums:

If you get to see these guys in person, DO NOT PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY! I saw them twice in a 4 month period in 2005 and both shows were transcendant, despite the extenuating circumstances involved. One of the best idea OSU had while I was a student was to use its clout as a huge University to draw big name acts to its Big Free Concert (that year being on MAy 12th). The problem is it is a badly executed concert, involving standing around all day outside on hot concrete behind the Schottenstein Center. Even though we were exhausted and they were the last show they were so energetic it was worth the wait.

In a stroke of luck they were coming back through the area agin the same summer for the Dublin (OH) Irish festival on August 12th. That day was hot! Like upper 90's hot, to the point that everyone I went with was soaked in sweat by the end of the show. Other problems included the lead singer being hoarse from a cold and the fact that despite it being an Irish Festival, all there was available was cheap ass american beer. The only people in the place that had Guinness was the band itself. Not to worry still outstanding show.

Just Go see them, you will not be dissapointed.
