My Birthday 'Gar: Camacho Triple Maduro Torpedo

6" X 54, Really Fuckin' Maduro!

Well, for the first time in a while, you are not gonna get a full review of a cigar, just some impressions. First this cigar was noteworthy because it was my birthday 'gar, part of my present from Carrie for turning 28 (which included a day on the town in Toledo, dinner at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company, and a really sweet crystal cigar ashtray, which was coupled with a promise that no menthol light ashes will grace it. More on all them later.). Because of that I really wasn't in the condition to do a formal tasting, as I was smoking it as the sun went down over the Maumee River with the sweet sounds of the Toledo Latin Festival floating over the water toward us. Some quick notes though. This cigar is obviously young, the place I bought it from put its first box of them on the shelf yesterday. This cigar is not for the newbie, or weak of heart, calling this cigar full/full right now just might be an understatement. I am not new to cigar smoking, and I was thankful that I had eater a robust meal prior to lighting. This cigar had nice flavors, tangy, molasses and rich oak the ones I remember, but its youth and strength might just trump these pluses to this point. I would love to get a hold of one in more ideal situations and really put the screws to it (or get a box and hide it a way for a while), so hopefully I can. That said, it was a good celebratory stick. More on my birthday shenanigans tomorrow.

But check this out, more birthday wishes from the blogosphere!

Beverly Mitchell

Beverley Ann Mitchell (born January 22, 1981 in Arcadia, California) is an American actress and country music singer. She is best known for her role as Lucy Camden Kinkirk on the television series 7th Heaven.

Her debut role was in the TV movie Big Brother Jake (1990). Her first important film role came with The Crow: City of Angels (1996). Shortly after this, she appeared on the WB network as one of the new faces on 7th Heaven (1996), and has starred on the popular show throughout its eleven-season run.

More recently, she debuted a country album titled "Beverley Mitchell", which included the single "Angel". The single premiered on the November 5, 2006, episode of 7th Heaven (Episode #227: Broken Hearts and Promises). The album was released on January 23, 2007. Mitchell co-wrote seven of the fourteen songs.

Mitchell says she's concerned that network television has been drifting away from family dramas, and more specifically dramas that can be enjoyed by entire families. "I think the greatest thing about 7th Heaven is we allow religion to be a part of the show, but it's not what makes the show," she says. "We don't force religious issues on anybody. You can watch our show and be an atheist. You can be a Buddhist, agnostic. You can be anything and watch the show and you can still get something from it."

On filming 7th Heaven's second series finale: "It was definitely sad! We love doing it for you (the fans). But if it is (truly) the end, my deepest gratitude to the amazing people I have shared the past 11 years with, and thank you to the fans for giving me the best job in the world!"
