La Flor Dominicana Factory Press II

Size: 6¼" x 54
Origin: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder & Filler: Dominican Republic

Appearance: This is one pretty looking cigar. With its dark wrapper and severe box press, I have heard other people refer to it as looking like a Candy Bar. It even glistened a little from those tasty essential oils, giving the impression of it being dipped in dark chocolate mixed with paraffin wax.

Pre-Light: The pre light went off without incident. Clip was easy and clean. the pre light draw was free and easy and showed notes of tangy tobacco and espresso.

Burn/Draw: The draw on this cigar was just fine, free and easy and produced billows of smooth, round smoke. The burn was kinda funky though. The burn line was pretty straight but the cigar tunneled back in upon itself. It was not horrible but enough to be annoying, and I guess I expect a better burn from a premium cigar like this. The ash was pretty firm and light grey.

Flavors: This cigar was pleasant. It had some nice sweet coffee and molasses notes, and the smoke was very creamy. The cigar continued to be medium/medium in nature throughout. Toward the end, the cigar added a bit of light bakers chocolate flavors, but on the whole I guess I was unimpressed. I expected more from this cigar. It was a good medium bodied creamy cigar, but there are better ones out there, at better values.
