"Kaibutsu" trumped by "King Felix"

(Felix Hernandez threw a one hitter tonight.)(Dice-K's Home Debut Was Strong.)(Buzzing Back Japanese Countryman Ichiro Suzuki.)(A Frustrating night for Daisuke Matsuzaka.)

Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched well in his home debut, but the offense could not get started against Felix Hernandez as the Red Sox fell to the Seattle Mariners Wednesday Night in Boston, 3-0. Matsuzaka had a strong performance with the line:

7IP 8H 3ER 1BB 4K

Hernandez, though, was utterly dominant, allowing only a ground ball single to J.D. Drew to start the 8th inning, while striking out six. While this game obviously should be attributed to Hernandez great pitching, the Sox offense is a bit concerning. They really need to get this together soon.
