Up, Win, Down. . .

(Running away with things. . .)
(Leaders of a strong team.)
(Varitek triples in three runs!)
(Kason Gabbard was very good today.)
(Okajima, sharp, as usual.)

Kason Gabbard, just called up from Pawtucket before the game, pitched admirably leading the Red Sox to a 6-3 win over the Atlanta Braves at Fenway park Sunday afternoon. While he threw a few too many pitches (100 over 5IP) he finished with a pretty decent line:

5IP 6H 2ER 1BB 7K

He did a good job on short notice keeping his team in a game against a tough opponent. It didn't hurt that the Sox scored four runs in the first. Unfortunately for him though, he was sent back town to Pawtucket for Manny Delcarmen, relief help for the upcoming series against the Yankees. Jason Varitek tripled in three runs and Youkilis hit a solo home run to power the offense.

Up next, the YANKEES!

GO SOX!
