BIG PAPI!

(Schilling Looked Effective.)(Ortiz Watches His Solo Home Run, In The First)(Celebrating His Two Run Shot, In The third)
(Papelbon Goes One and Two Thirds To Slam the Door.)

Curt Schilling rebounded from a dissapointing start in Kansas City and David Ortiz hit two home runs (accounting for all of the Red Sox Scoring), as the Sox beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 on Sunday night. Schilling contributed a line worthy of someone who dubbed himself the staff ace:

7IP 4H 1ER 1BB 6K

(The only run was a solo HR by Frank Catalanotto). Also, Jonathan Papelbon pitches an inning and two thirds of dominant baseball with three strikeouts to pick up his second save. He looks just as good as he did last year, which was promising. The Sox offense needs to get its ass in gear though.

Next up: Josh Beckett pitches in the Fenway Park home opener on Tuesday (against who ever is left for the Mariners after their Twi-Night Doubleheader in Cleveland, Monday).
