Uninspiring Start.

(Schilling was Unimpressive Today.)
(Dustin Pedroia Turning Two.)

Well led by a less than stellar start by Curt Schilling (4IP, 8H, 5ER, 5K), the Red Sox looked positively anemic today in a lame 7-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Royal's starter Gil Meche was downright stifling. The only bright spot to me was the plucky rookie 2B Dustin Pedroia (2-3, and a couple of slick plays around the bag) looked pretty good today, hopefully this is a tone setter for the whole year for him. On Wednesday, the two teams meet again, with Josh Beckett facing off against Odalis Perez. Hopefully the results then will be more promising.
